Former Asante Kotoko striker Frank Etouga Mbella has urged supporters to be calm following their unimpressive performance in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors has been dismal in the domestic top-flight and are currently ranked 11th in the standings with 33 points.

They have suffered six defeats in their last seven games in the Ghanaian top-flight, picking just a point across the period.

Speaking to Ghanasportspage, Mbella, who currently plies his trade for El Gouna urged the fans to keep supporting the team despite their poor showing in the league.

“The situation now normally happens because this is football. And sometimes it can be good, but now is a bad time, so I just want all the supporters to stay calm, and I beg them not to neglect the team, because this team is one of the best in Africa, and it will never, ever go down.”

Mbella became fans favourite during his time with the Porcupine Warriors. He scored 21 goals to propel the Ghanaian giants to clinch the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title.

The Cameroonian attacker left Kotoko to join Egyptian outfit Al Masry after impressing in the Ghanaian scene. Currently, he on loan at El Gouna.
