Former Asante Kotoko striker Shilla Alhassan has added his voice to the recent happenings at the club, urging coach Prosper Narteh Ogum to relinquish his role.

The Porcupine Warriors has been dismal in the domestic top-flight and are currently ranked 11th in the standings with 33 points.

Ogum has faced pressure in the latter half of the season, with the club managing only one league victory in 2024.

The Porcupine warriors has suffered six defeats in their last seven games in the Ghanaian top-flight, picking just a point across the period.

Fans on Tuesday descended on the club's training ground to disrupt proceedings, demanding the dismissal of the former WAFA boss.

Speaking to Kessben FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the former Kotoko forward advised Ogum to call it a quit due to the club’s poor performance.

“Kotoko fans demanding the sack of Prosper Ogum are right if the results are not coming as expected. To me, the fans of the club did well by preventing Ogum and the team from training”

“I think it will be prudent for Ogum to resign because things are not going as expected. If I were Ogum, I would have resign from my role. I remember he did same when he led the club to win the league title, so if things are not going well this time, he should do same and call it a quit” he said.

The Porcupine Warriors will play host to log leaders, Samartex in matchday 27 of the Ghanaian top-flight on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Life Patron of the Ghanaian giants, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called for an emergency meeting amid struggles of the club.

Otumfuo will hold a crunch meeting on Thursday, April 19, 2024 with the playing body and Interim Management Committee to address the recent happenings in the team.
