Former Liverpool Midfielder Claims Jurgen Klopp Needs to Sign Six Players

Charlie Adam has expressed his belief that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp needs to bring in at least six players in the summer.

The Reds have experienced a rapid decline of form in recent weeks, dropping from title challengers to fifth place in the Premier League, and going out of both the EFL and FA Cup.

And former Liverpool player Adam - now at Stoke - has made it clear that he thinks the club need to add players to the squad in order to consistently challenge at the top.

"It's cost them the title"@Charlie26Adam says #LFC blip means they can't make up lost ground to #CFChttps://t.co/NI1sjtpg98 pic.twitter.com/akrQUURFHU

Personally, they need a goalkeeper, Adam told BBC Radio Five Live - viathe Daily Express. They need a left-back, Milner has done a terrific job, and he has been excellent for them, but they need an actual left-back.

They need another central midfielder, they need another striker and I think they need a couple of wingers.

He added: "They are just short at the moment. Losing Coutinho was a blow for them, and Mane going to the Africa Cup of Nations was difficult, but they have to have the players to come in.

"But Klopp is a top manager and they will get back to winning ways soon."

Liverpool opted to make no additions in the January transfer window, and have won just one of their last ten games since the turn of the year.

The depth of the squad has come into question, particularly in defeat against Wolves in the FA Cup fifth round in which Klopp chose to rest many of the first team players.
