Former Man Utd Striker Set for Old Trafford Return Amid Rumours He Might Become a Coach

According to Bulgarian news outletSportal.bg,former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov will be making a return to Old Trafford.

He won't be functioning as a squad player, however, but will be training under Jose Mourinhoat the club's facilities in a bid to build up his fitness.

Berbatov is a free agent at the moment, having leftGreek side PAOK,and is said to be looking for a new club. He wants to be in top shape if a club do come calling, which is why reports have linked him with a return to Old Trafford.

Aside from that, Berbatov will also be studying Mourinho, as he aims to pursue a career in coaching when he retires from playing. There's also speculation about him joining United's coaching staff, as well as even playing for the team again.

But with Zlatan Ibrahimovich leading the line, and with Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial also options for Mourinho, signing another deal at the club is very unlikely.

It was reportedthat the striker arrived in London on Wednesday before United played out their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, and will begin training at Carrington next week. He should only be training for a week, however.

Berbatov is still a fan favourite at Old Trafford, having helped the club win two Premier League titles. He scored 56 times in four years under Sir Alex Ferguson, before departing for Fulham in 2012.

It would certainly be nice to have him back around, and would probably be even nicer if he were to appear for the club again this season.
