Former Manchester United Boss Louis van Gaal Reportedly Set for Shock Return to Management

Louis van Gaal isreportedlyset for a shock return to football management with PSG prepared to dump Unai Emery for the Dutchman.

The rumours come as the Ligue 1 champions suffered their fourth defeat of the season, this time at the hands of Guingamp, which means they have already lost twice the amount of games this season as they did last.

Van Gaal left Manchester United after several disappointing seasons that saw the club embarrass themselves on multiple occasions, missing out on the top four, struggling to win at home and being labelled one of the most boring sides in the league when they began struggling for goals.

Emery, on the other hand, joined the French club after successive Europa League final wins but is yet to get PSG into similar shape despite the impressive form of Edison Cavani, who grabbed his 17th league goal of the season in the loss to Guingamp.

The defeat means that Les Parisiens now trail seven points behind Mario Balotelli's Nice, who lead the league.

Former Nice winger, Hatem Ben Arfa, is struggling to follow up his 16 goals and five assists of last season with just one assist and zero goals so far this campaign. The Frenchmanis just one of many PSG players struggling to deliver at the level that they are capable of.

The potential appointment of van Gaal would be awful news for current PSG winger, Angel Di Maria, who was dumped by the Dutchman after his form dipped dramatically for the Red Devils - a problem that the Argentine has blamed on the impact of a house burglary that he suffered whilst playing for the club.

Van Gaal's reign at United wasn't all bad, with the manager ending his career at the club after lifting the FA Cup trophy.

As well as this, the Dutchman had some success in bringing through young talent, most notably Marcus Rashford, and may be desired by the Paris club who might need him to produce a similar trick in pulling stars out from nowhere if they are to successfully defend their league title.
