His continuous goalscoring form was key as he played an instrumental role as Teda survived relegation in the Chinese top-flight.

“We were going down but thank God we survived and I must say that it was an amazing season,” the 25-year-old said.

“It was a very memorable season for us and me as well. I just have to thank the fans for their support,” he added.

Acheampong joined Tianjin Teda on a six-month loan deal from Anderlecht in 2017 where he scored four goals in 12 appearances in the 2017 season which secured Tianjin Teda's stay in the top flight for the next season.
