German-Ghanaian Kwabe Schulz joins Rot-Weiss Erfurt

Published on: 16 June 2023

German-based club Rot-Weiss Erfurt has officially announced the signing of Kwabe Schulz from league competitor Berliner AK.

The 24-year-old joins Rot-Weiss Erfurt on a free transfer and will strengthen their central defense this summer.

Schulz will wear shirt number 22 and his contract will initially run until June 2024.

Schulz was born in Berlin and comes from the youth team of FC Viktoria 1889. There he was used for the first time as an 18-year-old in the Regionalliga Nordost.

In August 2019, the German-Ghanaian gained his first experience in the DFB Cup with Viktoria in the game against Arminia Bielefeld, after winning the Berlin State Cup with her in the previous season.

After 66 competitive appearances for the first team, Kwabe Schulz left his youth club in 2020 and joined the then Austrian second division club Austria Klagenfurt. In the summer of '21 he moved back to his hometown and back to the Regionalliga Nordost. Since then he has been irreplaceable for the Berliner AK, in the past season he only missed two league games.

The 1.89m man was able to convince the BAK especially with his headball strength, his resolute and fair duel leadership, his outstanding speed and his qualities in the build-up game. Schulz also shines regularly on offense: in the past two years at BAK alone he has scored seven goals. Kwabe Schulz will put all these skills at the service of our FC Rot-Weiss Erfurt for the coming season.
