Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that his side's winter break could give them a real advantage in their Champions League tie against Arsenal.

The German champions had an entire month off over January, with 30 days in between their two games against RB Leipzig and Freiburg.

Arsenal on the other hand played five games in that time, overthe gruelling winter programme in England.

And speaking to Kicker, Ancelotti believes this will give his side a massive advantage when they meet in their last 16 tie.

"The winter break is definitely an advantage," the former Milan and Chelsea boss claimed.

"Just like the fact we only play 34 Bundesliga games andinstead of the total of38 like in England, Spain and Italy."

"Additionally there's no winter Premier League break. There's two cup competitions to play in too (in England) - more games meanextra danger of players suffering injuries."

The twosides have become used to playing each otherin the Champions League. Incredibly this year's face-offwill be the fourth time in five years that the teams have met.

The German side have usually had the best of it, and knocked the Gunners out in 2012/13 and 2013/14. However, Wenger's men did beat Bayern at home in last season's group stages.

Yet, before Arsenal turn their attention to the five time Champions League winners they must instead focus on two league games against Chelsea and Hull.

The men from north London will almost definitely need to pick up six points to salvage something from another faltering season.
