Germany Legend Miroslav Klose Reveals How Thomas Tuchel Tried to Sign Him for Dortmund in 2015

Former Bayern Munich andKaiserslautern striker Miroslav Klose has revealed how Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel tempted him with a Bundesliga return in 2015.


The 38-year-old officially returned at the end of last season after playing for Lazio, but he could have bowed out in Germany if he took Tuchel up on his offer a year previous.

Klose, who is theall-timeleading goalscorer at World Cup tournaments, now assists Joachim Low as a coach for Germany's national team.


During an illustrious career the Poland-born striker scored a stunning 213 league goals in 529 appearances as well as 71 goals at international level for Germany in 137 caps.

"I talked over football during time alone with Thomas Tuchel, and Dortmund wanted to oblige me in 2015," Klose told Kicker, as quoted byGoal.


"Of course you want to coach in the Bundesliga when you move into coaching," Klose added.


The once prolific striker retains that while he isn't currently managing in the Bundesliga, it remains his goal going into the future.


"The Bundesliga must be the goal, and it is my goal." he said.
