GFA confirms Tariqe Fosu-Henry will miss Morocco friendly after reporting to camp late

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that winger Tariqe Fosu-Henry will miss the friendly match against Morocco on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, following his late arrival to camp.

Nicknamed the Black Stars, the West African giants on Monday traveled to Rabat where they will be taking on the Atlas Lions tomorrow.

Unfortunately, not all the 30 invited players made the trip to the North African country. Explaining the absence of Brentford winger Tariqe Fosu-Henry, the GFA in a communique has said it is because he arrived in camp late.

While he is expected to miss the Morocco game, the attacker who can play in defense will be available for the next friendly against Ivory Coast scheduled to be played in Ghana.

“Tariqe reported to camp Friday evening, after the sides training session in Cape Coast. Coach Akonnor engaged him briefly and told him that reporting late has scuppered his chances of traveling with the team to Morocco.

“The Brentford winger will also join the team on Thursday for the game against Ivory Coast,” the GFA statement has said.

Tomorrow’s match between the Black Stars and the Atlas Lions will kick off at 20:00GMT.
