Ghana international, Andre Ayew is one of many who are backing manager Steve Cooper to succeed at his new club Nottingham Forest.

The attacker worked with the gaffer during his time at Swansea City. In the last two seasons, the player and the coach were both contracted to the Swans and helped the club to reach the English playoffs on two different occasions.

Following the appointment of Steve Cooper, footballghana.com recaps an interview Andre Ayew granted to BBC Sport in July 2020.

At the time, the Black Stars captain said he has no doubt the tactician will become one of the big names in the game in the future.

“I’m impressed by the gaffer and his staff. They have done a great job and it’s not easy when it’s your first year and you have a lot of young players around.

“He has the quality and you can see we have an identity and style of play. His message is coming across well and I’m happy to have met and worked with him. He’s got great ideas and he’s going to be a big manager in the future,” Andre Ayew said at the time.

At Nottingham Forest, Steve Cooper has replaced Chris Hughton and will hope to lead the team to fight for promotion to the English Premier League.
