Ghana captain Andre Ayew misses out on Black Stars squad for Mexico, USA friendlies

The head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has named a 23-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming games against Mexico and the US Men’s national teams.

The Black Stars will play against their counterparts from these two countries this month during the international break.

Ahead of the two matches, Coach Chris Hughton has named his squad who will be playing in the games.

Captain of the Black Stars, Andre Ayew has been left out of the Ghana squad and will play no part in the games.

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey and Daniel Amartey who missed Ghana’s last two matches have returned to the Black Stars squad.

This month, Ghana will take on Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium – in Charlotte on Saturday, October 14, before taking on the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, in Nashville Tennessee.

Coach Chris Hughton is expected to use the two friendlies as part of the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
