Ghana coach Otto Addo explains why Black Stars and Dortmund job must be dual

The head coach of the Ghana national team, Otto Addo has explained that he prefers working for the Black Stars and Dortmund on a dual basis because he sees himself staying in Germany for the next few years.

The German-trained tactician has been offered the Ghana national team job on a permanent basis but he has made it clear he wants the job on an interim basis in order to have the chance to also work for Dortmund.

Speaking to Transfer Market in an interview, Coach Otto Addo says although he believes a national team job requires that the coach should be living in the country he works for, it is not likely to happen for him.

He said he sees himself staying in Germany for the next few years and hence that is why he wants the Black Stars job and the Dortmund role to be performed concurrently.

“I don't see the position as of now. I think as a national coach you should also live in the country you work for in the long term. Of course, many things can also be organized and delegated remotely over a certain period of time. But I see myself personally in Germany in the next few years,” an honest Otto Addo said.

The highly-rated tactician will be in charge of Ghana for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers and the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament set to be staged in Qatar.
