Ghana international Alexander Djiku has turn his attention towards the domestic scene following Fenerbache’s elimination from the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The Turkish giants failed to advance to the semifinals of the competition after falling short to Greek giants Olympiacos on Thursday.

The Black Stars centre-back was in action when his outfit secured a 1-0 victory over Olympiacos in the second leg of the Conference League quarterfinals. But it was not enough for the Turkish giants to advance to the semifinals of the competition.

Djiku, who joined the club last summer delivered as an outstanding performance despite his sides’ inability to reach the last four.

Before the return leg in Turkey, Fenerbache had suffered similar defeat to Olympiacos in Greece.

However, the game travelled to extra time and with no additional goal, the winner had to be decided on penalties, where Olympiacos emerged as winners.

“Despite this disappointing result, I am proud of this team and our always loyal fans 💛💙

We have one last goal in the league this season and we start this weekend, we will achieve this goal together” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Djiku has established himself as a key member of the Fenerbache squad since his arrival last summer. The 29-year-old has scored two goals and provided two assists in 29 games so far this season for the club.
