Ghana defender Daniel Amartey has commenced pre-season training with Leicester City ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The 26-year-old reported to camp on Monday with the rest of the squad to prepare for the new season.

It will be the Foxes’ first full season based at the Seagrave complex following their move from Belvoir Drive in December 2020, and spirits were high as the Club’s stars arrived in north Leicestershire following the summer break.

Amartey recovered from a  long-term injury lay-off to feature in 12 matches in the Premier League.

He played a pivotal role in helping the Foxes beat Chelsea to win the FA Cup for the first time.

The Ghanaian will be hoping to stay fit for next season as he becomes an integral member of the team following the departure of captain and defender Wes Morgan.

Leicester City's detailed schedule begins this week, while their pre-season fixture calendar will see them face Burton Albion, Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers later this month, before they take on Manchester City in the FA Community Shield in early August.
