Ghana forward Christopher Antwi-Adjei impress on official VfL Bochum debut

Ghana international, Christopher Antwi-Adjei was the difference for VfL Bochum last weekend when the team came from behind to defeat Wuppertaler SV 2-1 in the DFB Pokal.

The attacker joined the German Bundesliga newcomers this summer in a transfer from SC Paderborn.

Although he had already played in friendly matches in pre-season, it was last Saturday that he made his official debut for the new club.

In a game against Wuppertaler SV, Christopher Antwi-Adjei missed out on the starting eleven list of VfL Bochum but was introduced at the break to replace Holtmann.

Although his team was already trailing by a goal to nil, the Ghana attacker changed the game for his side and made the difference to inspire a 2-1 comeback win at the end of extra time.

Impressed with the performance of the player, VfL Bochum coach Thomas Reis said it is good he has a player he can rely on from the bench.

“Of course it helps if you can bring Antwi-Adjei to Holtmann,” coach Reis said.

Up next for Antwi-Adjei and Bochum, the team will this weekend take on Wolfsburg on the opening weekend of the 2021/2022 German Bundesliga campaign.
