Ghana international Joseph Paintsil has expressed disappointment in KRC Genk’s stalemate against Westerlo in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.

The Black Stars winger started and lasted 80 minutes in his outfit 3-3 stalemate at the Cegeka Arena.

Westerlo came from behind on three occasions to ensure they return home with a point in the week 9 encounter.

“Disappointed we couldn’t get the win for you #genkies. Already looking forward to our next fixture” he wrote on X

Colombia defender Daniel Munoz got the opening goal of the match when he put Genk in front in the 10th minute but the visitors responded quickly to level pegging after Belgium international Lucas Stassin had found the back of the net nine minutes later.

Five minutes into the second half, Paintsil connected a pass from Kayembe to increase the advantage for Genk.

Stassin scored again in the 60th minute to reduce the deficit before substitute Tuur Rommens got the equalising goal for Westerlo with one minute remaining to the end of the match.

Paintsil has now scored two goals and provided three assists in 9 games for Genk.
