Ghana international, Richard Ofori is set to miss more Orlando Pirates matches in January.

The experienced shot-stopper missed out on a place in the Ghana squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to a knee injury.

Although it was said to be nothing serious, it now appears the medical team of the club didn’t make full disclosure on the extent of the injury.

His expected time of recovery which was supposed to be the first week of January 2023 is now unrealistic.

The goalkeeper is yet to make full recovery from the injury and is now expected to stay out until the end of the month.

In a confirmation by Orlando Pirates, the club has disclosed that Richard Ofori and three other players including Tebogo Tlolane (nursing an MCL tear) Olisa Ndah (dealing with a niggle) and Thembinkosi Lorch (dealing with a knock) won’t be available for upcoming games.

Already, the four players did not feature for the South African top-flight club in the match against Mamelodi Sundowns when the league resumed at the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

At the moment, Richard Ofori is focused on some gym work as he aims to get back to full fitness as soon as possible.
