‘Ghana is proud of you’ - Kurt Okraku congratulates Black Queens for qualifying for 2024 WAFCON

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has congratulated the Black Queens for qualifying the country to the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.

After five arduous years of missing out on qualification, the Black Queens staged a remarkable comeback, clinching victory over Namibia with a 3-2 aggregate score.

The first leg which was played in Ghana ended 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In today's clash the Black Queens were beaten 1-0.

Both sides battled hard to gain control of the game in the early stages.

Namibia broke the deadlock in the 21st minute through a corner kick. With no other goal in the remainder of the 90 minutes, Ghana lost by a goal to nil.

However, thanks to the 3-2 aggregate win, the Black Queens are now through to the 2024 WAFCON.

Reacting to the victory, GFA President Kurt Okraku in a post on social media applauded the Black Queens, adding that the entire nation is proud of the team.

“Congratulations! #BlackQueens. Ghana is proud of what you represent; Passion, Determination & Hard work. Ayekoo to the entire team,” Kurt Okraku said.
