Ghana midfielder Alhassan Wakaso features as Leixões edge Tondela

Ghana midfielder Alhassan Wakaso has played the full 90 minutes for Leixões SC as they edged Tondela in the Portuguese second tier league on Saturday.

The visitors scored once in the first half and added two in the second to claim a 3-2 win in the Liga Portugal 2 round 27 game at the Estadio Joao Cardoso.

Leixões SC took the lead through Thalis Cantanhede 37 minutes into the game after a cagey opening half an hour, a goal that was assisted by João Amorim.

The first half ended 1-0 in favour of the travelling party.

Five minutes after the break, Brazilian midfielder Thalis Cantanhede doubled the lead for Leixões SC. This time, assisted by Joao Oliveira.

Another Brazilian Marcelo Alves pulled one back for the home side four minutes after the visitors added to their tally.

Fabinho then assisted Bruno Prado to restore Leixões SC’s two goal advantage in the 70th minute before Ruben Fonseca scored a second for the home side to finish the game 3-2.

Alhassan Wakaso was then booked late in the game. The 31-year-old has now featured in four league games for Leixões this season.
