Ghanaian international Richard Boateng netted his second goal of the season for Alcorcón over the weekend when they posted a 3-1 victory over Sporting Gijon in the Spanish Segunda Division.
In a match week eleven fixture played at the El Molinom stadium, Sporting Gijon who played as the home team was totally outplayed and finished the match with no point.
Alcorcón put up an impressive performance in the first half and made sure they put the game to bed before going into the break.
Oscar Arribas opened the scoring for the away side on the 19th minute before Stoichkov added a second just 5 minutes later.
Richard Boateng provided the insurance goal on the 40th minute with a well-taken goal to make it 3-0.
Though Gijon pulled on back in the dying minutes of the second half, Boateng and his teammates amassed all 3 points in their quest to get into the top four of the division standings.
The 27-year-old now has two goals to his name after 8 matches and will be hoping to score more in subsequent matches.
