Ghana new coach Otto Addo begins work

Outgoing Talent development coach of Borussia Dortmund, Otto Addo has commenced his work as head coach of the Black Stars team.  

Otto is back for a second spell with the Black Stars after being handed with a 34-month contract with an option for a further 24-months.

The former Ghana international replaces Chris Hughton, who was shown the exit door following the Black Stars calamitous performance at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

Ghana suffered elimination from the tournament after failing to progress from the group stage.

Otto Addo begins his reign during the March international break, where Ghana will play Nigeria and Uganda on March 22 and March 26 respectively.

The four-time African champions has begun their training session in Morocco under new coach Otto Addo. His technical team, including Joseph Laumann, John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda have all commenced work with the Black Stars.

A chunk of the 26 players invited for the games participated in training today as the team gear up for the upcoming games.

Ghana captain, Andre Ayew, who recently reached a new milestone in the French Ligue was spotted at Black Stars training including, Tariq Lamptey, Denis Odoi, and Jojo Wollacot.

Other players, who participated in the training are, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Patrick Kpozo, Antoine Semenyo, Alidu Seidu, Ernest Nuamah, and Jordan Ayew.

Otto Addo will return to Dortmund after the international break to continue his job with the club until the end of the season. He is expected to assume permanent Ghana role in May.
