Ghana Premier League: Fan attendance at Asante Kotoko games not good - Former captain Amos Frimpong

Published on: 27 November 2023

Former Asante Kotoko captain, Amos Frimpong, says the attendance at the Porcupine Warriors’ games this season has not been good.

This is a spillover from last season where attendance at the games of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have been very poor, with the menace becoming worse this season.

Frimpong has played for Asante Kotoko for eight years between 2011 and 2019 said attendance at the club’s last few games has not been good.

“All the Asante Kotoko games I have watched this season, the support is not good at all. I also got the opportunity to watch Accra Lions vs Hearts of Oak and the attendance there is even worse than in Kumasi,” he told Asempa FM.

“When we started the season, the attendance at Asante Kotoko’s first two games were good, but the last games are not good.”

Asante Kotoko secured a 3-1 comeback win over Legon Cities in Sogakope over the weekend to make it back-to-wins.
