Ghana Premier League: It is sad Hearts of Oak dropped points against Bofoakwa Tano – Salifu Ibrahim

Hearts of Oak midfielder, Salifu Ibrahim, has described their 1-1 draw against Bofoakwa Tano as sad in their Ghana Premier League week 20 game on Monday.

The Phobians took a first half lead through Salifu Ibrahim’s goal after just 24 minutes but then conceded what looked like an own goal just nine minutes into the second half to end the game in a draw.

Speaking to StarTimes after the game, Salifu Ibrahim stated that if they had secured a win, it would have pushed them further up the table.

“It is not good that we got a draw. We needed the maximum win. It would have pushed us further up the standings. It is sad we drew,” he said.

The Phobians’ two-game winning streak has come to an end under new head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, leaving them still 8th after the draw.

Meanwhile, the draw has done no good to Bofoakwa Tano’s relegation fight, leaving them still second from bottom on the league log.
