Ghana Premier League: Kotoko deserve more than nine points - Coach Prosper Ogum

Published on: 25 October 2023

Asante Kotoko's head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has voiced his dissatisfaction with his team's performance in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, believing they should have secured more than nine points from their first six games.

The former WAFA boss cited their style of play and the chances they have created to justify his point.

The Porcupine Warriors currently occupy the seventh position on the league table, with a total of 9 points out of a possible 18. They find themselves just one point shy of the league leaders.

"I think as far as point accumulation is concerned, myself and the players, we are all not happy because if you look at the way we have played, we have given half of the points away which should not happen," Ogum said at a press conference.

"If you look at the games we have played and the creativity we have shown in front of goal, we shouldn’t be having nine points after six games."

Asante Kotoko have lost just one of the six league games they have played this campaign, winning two and drawing three.

The Porcupine Warriors will next take on Bechem United at home in match week seven of the league.
