Ghana Premier League matchday 14 preview: Hearts of Oak v Great Olympics

Published on: 10 March 2020

The two teams square off in the much anticipated Mantse derby at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday for bragging rights.

Hearts of Oak aim to extend their seven game unbeaten streak in the league against the Oly Dade boys. The Phobians have however seen more draws in this run (5D).

They have also had some problems at the offensive end of the pitch, scoring just 11 goals in 13 matches. They also need to improve defensively, conceding 12 goals during the period.

Edward Nii Odoom's side are now 9th on the log with 18 points and a victory over their noisy neighbours will help their top four aspirations.

Great Olympics aim to build on their 2-0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs as they prepare to face Hearts of Oak. The Oly Dade boys were on a four game winless streak before then and needed that boost for their upcoming crunch tie.

Olympics have scored more than Hearts this season (12) but have conceded three more, showing their deficiencies on both ends of the pitch.

Oly Dade are 15th on the table with just 14 points after 13 games.

On head-to-head basis, Hearts are clearly the better side with three wins and one draw in four matches.
