Ghana Premier League standard is very low - MND Jawula

Chairman of the Premier League Management Committee, Alhaji Mahamadu Nuru Deen Jawula says the topflight standard is very low as compared to other leagues in Africa.

Asante Kotoko were crowned champions of the 2021/22 league champions last Sunday at the Baba Yara stadium following a 3-0 win over relegated-Elmina Sharks.

The Porcupine Warriors won their 24th title with a three matches left to play after a 1-1 draw with Ashanti Gold in Obuasi.

"We have to work harder to improve the standard of the league, there is no doubt about the low quality of our league. Our players should not leave the league prematurely," MND Jawula told Akoma 87.9 FM.

"We have to find a way to keep our players and I know the FA will find a way to make players stay a little longer."

Asante Kotoko will play in the 2022/23 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League as Ghana’s sole representative in Africa’s flagship club competition.
