Ghana striker Jordan Ayew featured for Crystal Palace in their 1-1 draw against Brentford on match week five of the Premier League on Tuesday night.

The 30-year-old climbed off the bench to replace Eberechi Eze in the 76th as the Eagles secured a point at Selhurst Park.

Wilfried Zaha was twice denied in the first half by Brentford defender Aaron Hickey, who produced two crucial blocks inside the area to prevent the Eagles talisman from putting the hosts ahead.

Michael Olise also fired a low effort against the outside of the post early in the second period with the score still goalless.

After the recess, Zaha gave Palace the lead with a sumptuous effort into the far corner but an unmarked Yoane Wissa connected with Vitaly Janelt's cross in the 88th to cancel out Wilfried Zaha's earlier stunner.

A late Brentford onslaught almost saw them take all three points back to west London as Rico Henry and Ben Mee came close to scoring in stoppage-time.

Ayew has made five league appearances for Crystal Palace so far this season.
