Ghana to be without injured trio Elisha Owusu, Alidu Seidu and Daniel Kofi Kyereh for AFCON qualifiers next month

Ghana will be without injured trio of Elisha Owusu, Alidu Seidu and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola.

The Black Stars are expected to face Angola in a double header in March, but the team will have to negotiate for points without the trio due to injuries.

Before the just-ended weekend, both Elisha Owusu and Alidu Seidu had picked up injuries that had ruled them out of action for weeks.

Unfortunately, Daniel Kofi-Keyerh who plies his trade for Freiburg increased the number of Black Stars injured at club level.

His club in a statement confirmed Kofi Kyereh will be out of action for the rest of the season after twisting his knee.

This means the trio could miss the AFCON qualifier next month when Ghana take on Angola in their third group game.

The trio absence will come as a huge blow to the Black Stars who are hoping to qualify to the AFCON for the 10 consecutive time and the 24th time in their history.

The trio are integral figures of the national team and were part of the team that represented Ghana at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Ghana will host Angola at the Cape Coast Stadium before the return fixture in Angola.

Meanwhile, the Ghana FA has sent well wishes to the injured Ghanaian players.
