Ghana international Joseph Painstil played his first match for LA Galaxy when they faced Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer opening game.

The Black Stars winger was called to action at the Dignity Health Sports Park and played a huge role to help his side snatch a point.

Paintsil lasted 86 minutes as his side played out a 1-1 draw against Inter Miami on Monday.

He initiated the attack for the opening goal in the thrilling encounter after cutting in from the left before finding Riqui Puig whose strike from long range was parried into the path of Marky Delgado, with the midfielder serving Dejan Joveljic for the breakthrough.

But Inter Miami staged a comeback to snatch a draw against LA Galaxy. Former Barcelona duo Jordi Alba and Lionel Messi combined to level for the visitors. It was the Argentine legend's first goal of the season.

He was replaced in the 85th minute mark by Daniel Aguirre.

Painstil joined the MLS giants in February from Belgium outfit KRC Genk on a four-year deal as a Designated Player.
