Ghana winger Yaw Yeboah helps Columbus Crew to win MLS Eastern Conference title

Ghana international Yaw Yeboah has won the MLS Eastern Conference title with Columbus Crew over the weekend after defeating FC Cincinnati.

The former Black Meteors captain started and played 76 minutes in the final, contributing significantly towards the team’s success.

Columbus Crew came from behind to snatch an important victory to annex the title at the TQL Stadium.

Cincinnati three away their two-goal lead as they lose the title to the ambitious Columbus Crew team.

Brandon Vazquez and MVP Luciano Acosta found the back of the net in the first half to out Cincinnati in front.

But Columbus staged a comeback to level pegging with 15 minutes to full time following Alvas Powell's own goal and a brilliant finish from Diego Rossi, forcing the game to extra time.

Columbus Crew eventually emerged as winners following a strike from Christian Ramirez in the extra time.

This means Columbus Crew will face Los Angeles FC in the final of the 2023 Major League Soccer.

Yeboah could join the likes of Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful, and more recently Latif Blessing and Kwadwo Opoku as MLS Champions if Crew beat holders LAFC in the final.
