According to the football administrator who is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, it will be difficult for any country from Ghana to lift the CAF Champions League or the CAF Confederations Cup.

In an interview with Accra-based Happy FM, George Amoako shared, "Other African clubs are miles ahead of us, we need to work hard to bridge the gap. As we speak now no club in Ghana can win the confederation cup or champions league. Ghanaian clubs have a long way to go, we need to do a lot to meet the standard out there".

It has been more than a decade since a Ghanaian club won any continental trophy. Though there have been a number of clubs participating in either the Champions League or the Confederations Cup, none of them have been able to really challenge the heavyweights from the other continent.
