Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey keen on joining Copenhagen in summer - Stale Solbakken

Ghana and Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey is keen on a move to Copenhagen this summer, according to Danish side’s manager Stale Solbakken.

The 25-year-old is yet to make an appearance under Brendan Rodgers who replaced Claude Puel - the manager of the Premier League side at the time of the ankle injury.

He has struggled to break into Leicester's first time since returning from his injury he suffered in 2018, which ruled him out of action for about a year.

And, if the opportunity arrives, expect Amartey to seize the opportunity to re-join Copenhagen during the off-season.

"He says he wants to go home," says Solbakken, the former Wolves coach.

"I don’t think his fee will be expensive because Leicester wants to get rid of his salary.”

Solbakken admits, however, that he is doubtful a return to the Danish capital can be agreed, even if Amartey was a big hit during his first spell with Copenhagen.

He won three trophies between 2014 and 2016, including the league title.
