Ghanaian forward Kelvin Boateng was sent off as First Vienna suffered a 1-0 defeat against Dornbirn in the Austrian second tier clash.

Kelvin Boateng's dismissal came in the 90th minute at Stadion Birkenwiese on Friday.

Despite Vienna's initial dominance, Dornbirn seized the lead in the 34th minute when Anteo Fetahu capitalized on a defensive error, lobbing the ball past goalkeeper Giuliani.

The match saw a rush of red cards, with Kelvin Boateng being joined by Jürgen Bauer and Anes Omerovic from First Vienna, while Mateus Jesus received his marching orders for Dornbirn.

Boateng's involvement in the game was notable from the outset, with an early offensive action in the 2nd minute. However, Vienna failed to convert their chances, with Daniel Luxbacher's long-range attempt sailing over the bar in the 6th minute.

The defeat leaves Vienna reflecting on missed opportunities as Dornbirn strengthens their position in the league.

Kelvin Boateng has made 19 appearances, scored six goals, and assisted two in the league this season.
