Ghanaian players abroad wrap: Joseph Paintsil scores as Mohammed Salisu finally makes injury return

Ghanaians players abroad were in action over the weekend with some excelling and others making injury returns.

Mohammed Salisu finally made his return from injury after almost nine months out as Monaco won 2-0 against Stade Rennais.

Joseph Paintsil scored his fourth league goal for Genk as they won 3-1 against Eupen.

Premier League round 16

Jordan Ayew was sent off after 70 minutes as Liverpool came from behind to beat his team, Crystal Palace, 2-1.

Antoine Semenyo lasted 58 minutes for Bournemouth as they thumped Man United 3-0 at the Old Trafford.

Mohammed Kudus endured a difficult afternoon and was subbed off after the hour mark as Fulham hammered West Ham 5-0.

LaLiga round 16

Baba Idrissu was brought on after 86 minutes for as Almeria lost 2-1 at Atletico Madrid.

Inaki Williams scored his eighth goal of the season for Athletic Club as they held a 1-0 lead before the game against Granada was abandoned following the death of a fan.

Abdul Mumin’s Rayo will take on Celta Vigo on Monday.

Serie A round 15

Caleb Ekuban returned from injury to make a late cameo for Genoa as they lost 1-0 at Monza.

Emmanuel Gyasi’s Empoli will face off with Lecce on Monday. The same with Ibrahim Sulemana’s Cagliari who play against Sassuolo.

Bundesliga round 14

Ghanaian duo Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Moritz-Broni Kwarteng were second half substitutes for Bochum in a 3-1 defeat to Hoffenheim.

Patric Pfeiffer was an unused substitute for Augsburg as they lost 2-0 at Werder Bremen.

Jeremie Frimpong played the entire game for Leverkusen as they drew 1-1 against Stuttgart.

French Ligue 1 round 15

Salis Abdul Samed was subbed off after 72 minutes as Lens drew goalless against Montpellier.

Mohammed Salisu finally made his AS Monaco debut and played the entire game as they won 2-1 at Rennes.

Alidu Seidu made a return from his red card suspension to play the entire game for Clermont Foot in their goalless draw against Lille.

Ernest Nuamah lasted 66 minutes for Lyon as they beat Toulouse 3-0 for their second win of the season.

Andre Ayew made his second appearance for Le Havre returning from his red card suspension on his debut as they lost 2-1 at Strasbourg.

Belgium Pro League round 17

Joseph Paintsil scored his fourth league goal as Genk won 3-1 against Eupen. Christopher Baah came off the bench to provide an assist for Genk’s third goal.
