Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea makes final list for FIFA U17 World Cup in Indonesia

Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Laryea has been selected for the upcoming FIFA U17 World Cup final tournament in Indonesia.

The 34-year-old is the only Ghanaian referee to have made the final list for the prestigious tournament to be staged in the Southeast Asia. Laryea completes the 11 African match officials selected for the tournament.

Laryea has vast experience in officiating, having handled some top continental matches in the AFCON qualifiers, CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Laryea will be one of the 18 Video Assistant Referees in Indonesia during the tournament.

The Black Starlets did not qualify for the tournament which has been scheduled to take place in Indonesia from November 10 to December 2, 2023, where 24 countries will battle for the covetous trophy.

Africa will be represented by the U17 champions Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Morocco.

These teams will join 20 other nations: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Indonesia, IR Iran, Japan, and Korea Republic, as well as Mexico, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Spain, USA, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela.
