Ghanaian winger Aaron Opoku ‘sorry’ for offensive conduct that has attracted a 5-match suspension in Germany

German-born attacker of Ghanaian descent, Aaron Opoku has offered an unqualified apology for his conduct in the Hamburg SV v Darmstadt game that has landed him into trouble.

The winger featured for Hamburg SV last Friday when the team lost 2-1 to Darmstadt.

During the game, Aaron Opoku kicked an opponent in the stomach and was sent off for his conduct.

In a post on social media, the youngster says he is sorry for his actions.

"I apologize again publicly because what happened to me last Friday doesn't belong in professional sports, but I let my emotion get the better of me, which still doesn't excuse the whole thing.

“Of course I will bear every consequence & still come back stronger I make mistakes & learn from them I thank the team and everyone around me who give me courage and support me positively 🙏." He posted on his social networks to apologise for his silly conduct,” Aaron Opoku said.

The forward has been slapped with a five-match ban and is not expected to feature for Hamburg SV until late September.
