Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Agyepong made his debut for Waasland-Beveren as they were thrashed 4-0 at home by Genk on Saturday.

The 22-year-old came off the bench to replace Rwandese Djihad Bizimana in the second half.

Genk took the lead through Joseph Painstil's superb strike in the 21st minute of the game.

A second-half hat-trick from Tanzanian international Mbwana Samata handed the away side all the three points.

Agyepong has recovered from the injury he picked up at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

He is currently on a season-long loan move from English Premier League champions Manchester City and has previously featured in Holland (FC Twente and NAC Breda) and Scotland (Hibernian).
