Ghanaian international, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu has revealed his desire to play football to the highest level just like Michael Essien did.
The youngster currently plays his football for English League 2 outfit Colchester United and has shown great potential in the past year.
Speaking in an interview with Happy FM today, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu says he wants to follow in the footsteps of Ghana's great Michael Essien.
“I want to emulate Michael Essien. He (Essien) was here playing for Chelsea before moving to Real Madrid.
“He played to the highest level and is someone I would like to replicate in my career,” Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu shared.
The 21-year-old just like Michael Essien is a midfielder. He enjoys defending but from time to time will burst forward to add to the attacking threat of his team.
He is keen on playing regularly this season to ensure he develops more.
