English-born Ghanaian youngster Gideon Kodua scored in West Ham u-21's 2-2 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League 2.

As the hosts made a strong start, a tough encounter ensued. West Ham needed Callum Marshall to score his 12th goal of the season within of ten minutes to compensate for Kane Taylor's early strike.

Josh Adam's curling second goal for the hosts gave Manchester City the advantage at the half in the Hammers' ninth competitive match of the season, but West Ham rallied brilliantly in the second.

Before the U21s' second of an outstanding performance in the North West rescued a point, George Earthy and Lewis Orford both came close.

Brilliant ball-winning by Earthy made it possible for Orford to connect with Callum Marshall. Later, the Northern Irish forward gave Gideon Kodua a simple tap-in opportunity at the far post.

Late chances for Orford and Marshall meant the Hammers could have won by more than a point.

Following successive Premier League 2 draws, the Hammers extended their undefeated record to eight games (W6, D2).
