Ghana's Emmanuel Gyasi joins Empoli FC

Serie A side Empoli FC has announced the signing of Ghanaian attacker Emmanuel Gyasi for an undisclosed amount from Spezia in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Emmanuel Gyasi made his professional debut, in September 2014 in the victory against Savona in Serie C.

During the 2016 summer transfer market window Gyasi became a player for Spezia. He was sent out on loan to Pistoiese where he made 35 appearances and scored 5 goals.

Playing at Südtirol, led by coach Paolo Zanetti he made 36 playoff appearances and scored 4 goals. The following season, he returned to Spezia first in Serie B. Emmanuel made his debut on the first day and scored on the second in the victory against Brescia. At the end of the season, he played 31 matches.

In the following championship, Gyasi won promotion to Serie A: he played regularly, scored 8 goals in the championship and a decisive one in the first leg of the playoffs with Frosinone. In September 2020 he made his debut in Serie A in the match against Sassuolo; while in November he scored for the first time in the top flight in a 2-2 draw with Cagliari.

He was called up in March 2021 by the Ghanaian national team the Black Stars. Gyasi made his debut in the match against South Africa, in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. He has so far made 3 appearances for Ghana.
