Ghana's Ernest Asante on target for Al Jazira in Arabian Gulf League

Ghana and Al Jazira striker Ernest Kwabena Asante was on target for his side in their 3-1 win over Al Nasr in the Arabian Gulf League on Friday.

Al Jazira came from behind to thrash Al Nasr at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium.

The visitor broke the deadlock after the recess via an own goal scored by Fares Juma on the 55th minute following lack of goals in the first half.

Brazilian international Leonardo Pereira restored the parity with his strike on the 79th minute.

Asante doubled the score for the home side on the 89th minute - two minutes after his introduction.

The 30-year-old joined Al Jazira from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland last summer.

Asante has made 13 appearances and bagged four goals with an assist for Al Jazira in his maiden season at the club.

He played in the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship, the eleventh edition of the tournament, which was held in the cities of Lima, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, and Iquitos in Peru between 16 September and 2 October 2005.

Ghana placed third after drawing in all of their three group matches, scoring three and conceding three in the process
