Ghana’s Ibrahim Sulemana will be playing under a new manager at Caglairi after the legendary Claudio Ranieri announced he is retiring from management.

This was after the former Leicester City boss secured the club’s Italian Serie A status after getting them to promotion last season.

The 72-year-old has managed 18 club sides and briefly led Greece's national team in a managerial career dating back to 1986, spanning almost four decades.

He gained fame for guiding Leicester City to the Premier League title in 2015-16, defying odds of 5,000-1 at the start of the season.

Cagliari ensured their Serie A status before Ranieri's final match as their manager, a 3-2 home defeat by Fiorentina on Thursday.

Ranieri signed Sulemana to the club from fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona last summer.

At the start of the just-ended season, Sulemana expressed delight in going to work with Ranieri at Cagliari, “Being coached by one of the most experienced Italian managers in the world, who has managed top European clubs and also won a Premier League, I’m sure he will allow me to bring out the maximum of my potential.”
