Ghanaian forward Patrick Agyemang proved to be the hero for Charlotte FC as he came off the bench to secure a vital victory against Toronto FC in Major League Soccer action on Saturday night.

In a thrilling encounter at the Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte FC clinched their third win of the season with a narrow 3-2 triumph over Toronto FC.

The match saw Kerwin Vargas draw first blood for Charlotte FC with an impressive strike in the 39th minute.

However, the lead was short-lived as Prince Osei Owusu, a German-born Ghanaian, swiftly equalized for Toronto FC just four minutes into the second half.

Undeterred, Charlotte FC regained the lead courtesy of Liel Abada, only for Osei Owusu to once again level the score with a well-timed tap-in from a pass by Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty in the 78th minute.

With the game hanging in the balance, Patrick Agyemang, introduced just a minute after Charlotte FC conceded their second goal, proved to be the decisive factor. Agyemang sealed the victory with a composed finish in the 85th minute, securing all three points for Charlotte FC.

Agyemang’s contribution adds to his tally for the season, having now scored two goals in seven appearances for Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer.
