Ghana's U-17 side, the Black Starlets are set to participate in a four nations tournament in Serbia next month.

The Starlets will join Spain, Switzerland and the host nation for the special UEFA tournament. The team is expected to leave the shores of the country soon for the tournament that has been scheduled to kick off on April 11.

Karim Zito and his charges are expected to play some key friendly games in Saudi Arabia as arranged by the Ghana Football Association [GFA].

Already, the team is in camp at Prampram preparing for the tournament but new players are expected to join the squad for the tournament.

''They have a four-nation tournament they are going to play in Serbia and that one is for those who were born in 2007, but just after the tournament next month, the group will be dissolved for a new set of Under-17 players born in 2008/2009," a source told Graphic Sports.

''But for now, they are in camp preparing for that tournament. They are going to Saudi Arabia and from there to Serbia for the tournament."

The source said the team in camp now included players who failed the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test before the Under-17 African Youth Championship qualifiers.

''I understand Spain, Switzerland, Ghana and Serbia are playing in the four-nation tournament which starts on the 11th of next month. Some of the boys who failed the MRI scan but fall within the age range of 2007 are also in camp," the source noted.
