Ghana's national under 17 male football team, the Black Starlets are scheduled to leave Accra on Thursday ahead of their 2017 Africa U17 championship return leg qualifier against Ivory Coast.

The Black Starlets lead the tie after recording an impressive 3-1 win over their neighbours in Cape Coast.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian's lads will take on their opponents this weekend in Yamoussoukro with the main aim of preserving their lead in order to secure qualification for the competition proper.

Ghana missed out on the competition two years ago for fielding an unqualified player but are closer this time. The winner of the tie progresses to the 2017 Africa Under-17 Championship to be staged in Madagascar between ‎2–16 April.
