Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has said government is committed to absorb the cost of Covid-19 test for clubs.

Officials and players of clubs will undergo a mandatory test before their league matches.

The Ghana Government has now established the National Covid Team (NCT) who are working together with the Sports Ministry to ensure good and fruitful exercise.

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua also rubbished stories that government might have a change of mind in that earlier decision stating people should treat those reports as a palpable fallacy.

“The government stands committed to protect the citizenry against the COVID-19 pandemic and is, therefore, putting resources in place to make the exercise successful," he told Graphic Sports.

“The government is taking care of everything. It is not only the free testing of players and officials but also essential items such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been distributed to all clubs and officials to protect them from being infected by the COVID-19 pandemic as they compete for laurels."
