Gracia welcomes Deeney option

Watford head coach Javi Gracia is hoping that the return from injury of striker Troy Deeney will help his side improve their goalscoring return in a tough run of games.

The Hornets have lost three of their last six Premier League games - failing to score in all three of those losses - with Gracia pleased to see Deeney return to action in the 1-1 draw at Southampton last weekend.

In this moment I think we are stronger with Troy back and he gives us another option up front.

The 30-year-old frontman had previously been sidelined for just over a month, with Gracia feeling that his side have been missing the link-up between Deeney and fellow striker Andre Gray.

He told the Watford Observer: "I think it is very important and I want all the players to be fit. That is the most important thing for me.

"Speaking about Troy, playing with Andre they were very important in the first games. They played well and scored goals.

"In this moment I think we are stronger with Troy back and he gives us another option up front.

"In some games we have maybe had more clear chances and we didn't score. Sometimes this happens and you do not know why. What we can do is keep working on the things that we can improve."

Following the international break, Watford return to action on Saturday 24 th November when they play host to Liverpool at Vicarage Road.

Last season this fixture ended in a 3-3 draw, with another draw a week on Saturday priced at 15/4.

A home win for the Hornets is available at 5/1, while Watford are 8/11 to finish in the top half of the Premier League this season.
