Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano and RTU relegated from Ghana Premier League

The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign has come to an end, and regrettably for Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United their time in the Ghanaian top-flight has ended.

These teams finished bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings, ensuring their relegation to the Ghana’s Division One League.

They are expected to compete in the Division One League in the upcoming campaign, having failed to maintain their status in the top-flight.

Several teams were battling against relegation going into the final day games including powerhouse Hearts of Oak.

But the Phobians defeated Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday afternoon to maintain their status in the league.

The rainbow boys came from behind to snatch an all-important 3-2 win over the Hunters to survive relegation.

Heading into the final days, Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United had already suffered relegation from the top-flight following an unimpressive performances.

Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and Karela United were all battling relegation on final day but the Phobians and Karela United prevailed as Great Olympics finished in the relegation Zone.

Olympics, former league champions finished 16th position with 44 points whiles Bofoakwa Tano and RTU placed 17th and 18th positions respectively.

Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United will reflect on their performances, identify areas of improvement and strive to make a quick return to the Ghanaian top-flight.

Meanwhile, Young Apostles, Basake Holy Stars and Vision FC are expected to feature in the Ghana Premier League next season after emerging victorious in their various zones in the Division One League campaign.
