Gunners conclude Ceballos swoop

Arsenal have completed the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old, who has scored five goals in 56 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos after joining from Real Betis in July 2017, was given the green light to depart the Santiago Bernabeu by coach Zinedine Zidane in this transfer window.

And, Gunners boss Unai Emery is delighted to get his fellow Spaniard to the Emirates Stadium on a loan deal.

He said: "We're excited to see Dani join us. He is a talented player with big technical ability, creativity and precision."

Ceballos, who has scored one goal in six appearances for Spain, revealed that Emery played a big part in his decision to turn down offers from other clubs to join Arsenal.

We're excited to see Dani join us. He is a talented player with big technical ability, creativity and precision.

He said on the club's website: "I'm really proud to be able to wear this shirt. I'm joining an historic Premier League side and it's a step forward in my career."

On Emery, Ceballos added: "The coach was the turning point in terms of me joining this massive club. He’s a Spanish coach and he knows me from my time at other clubs. I’m really happy to be able to help Arsenal achieve our objectives.

"He's a very tactical coach and I think that's going to really help me to perfect my positioning. I think we're both going to try our best to make me a better player."

Arsenal are 6/4 to finish in the Premier League's top four this season, while they are priced at 8/1 to win the Europa League after losing last season's final.
